In the cultural landscape of the village stands out a complex of buildings of the monastery in honor of the Holy Trinity (1867).

Kurilovo is the birthplace of the famous Mordvin poet, prose writer and playwright NL Irkaev (Nikula Erkaya, 1906-1978).
