The Republic of Mordovia is one of the regions of the Russian Federation with increased innovative activity. Since 2000, with the support of the republican budget, about 200 projects of the organizations of Mordovia have been implemented. A significant place among them is occupied by the projects of major scientific centers: the Mordovian State University named after. N. Ogarev, Mordovian State Pedagogical Institute. M.E. Evsevieva, OAO Lisma-VNIIIS them. AN Lodygina ", SCU" Research Institute of Humanitarian Sciences under the Government of the Republic of Mordovia ", Mordovian Research Institute of Agriculture, JSC" Electrovypryamitel. "
Mordovia University is one of the major scientific centers of Russia, research is being conducted in 28 branches of science, a modern system of research, innovation and innovation structures has been formed here.
Studies are conducted in two priority areas of development (NDP).
NDP 1 "Energy Saving and New Materials". Realization of this direction of the University development presupposes: development of fundamentally new ecologically clean energy-saving sources of optical radiation, materials and components for a new generation of devices for radio engineering, optoelectronics, power electronics based on wide-band semiconductors; development and synthesis of new materials for fiber optics and laser technology; creation of microcrystalline powders and new materials with unique optical, strength and heat-conducting properties; development of promising biotechnologies using nanosized particles; development of impulse systems of heat and water supply; the creation of new building materials and energy-saving technologies for their production.
NDP 2 "Fundamental and Applied Research in the Field of Finno-Ugric Studies". The realization of this direction of the University's development includes a study of the history of the formation and development of Finno-Ugric peoples, their worldview, language, literary and folklore features, social, economic, confessional and legal diversity, Finno-Ugric folk art, health problems of Finno-Ugric peoples.
The University provides multi-channel funding for scientific research. The average annual volume of research funding over the past three years is more than 360 million rubles. The university is the leader of a number of state and 20 regional scientific and technical programs, which allows implementing a full innovative cycle in the creation of scientific and technical and educational products. Within the framework of state support of young Russian scientists in 2010, the Mordovian University won 5 grants of the President of the Russian Federation, in 2011 - 4 grants.
Integration with the leading research centers and scientific schools of Russia is strengthened, cooperation with universities of England, Germany, Hungary, USA, Sweden, Finland and several other countries of the world is expanding through the implementation of joint projects and programs. For example, the Interregional Scientific Center of Finno-Ugric Studies, 10 regional branches of public Russian and international academies are active.
On the basis of the Mordovian University, up to 25 international and Russian scientific and practical conferences, scientific schools and seminars are held annually. Leading scientific teams make a significant contribution to the acquisition of new natural-scientific, humanitarian and scientific-technical knowledge through the preparation of monographs, textbooks and teaching aids for students and pupils of schools, collections of scientific papers, encyclopedic and other literature. The University publishes the journals "Integration of Education", "Regionology", "Bulletin of the Mordovian University", the international scientific journal Finno-Ugric World, and a number of electronic journals.
Every year, scientific and technical developments of scientists of the University are exhibited at exhibitions of various levels, including international ones. The significance of innovative developments has been marked in the last three years by a significant number of awards (13 medals, 73 diplomas).
University, developing the infrastructure of innovation, actively includes in the economic turnover of intellectual property. The university has 127 patents in the field of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, energy, agriculture, biotechnology, medicine, etc .; annually, up to 40 applications for industrial property objects are sent to the Federal Institute of Intellectual Property.
In the Mordovian State Pedagogical Institute named after ME Evseyev, research is being conducted in the fields of physics, biology, ecology, psychology and pedagogy. Fundamental and applied problems of language, literature, folklore, history, archeology, ethnography and economics are being developed at the Scientific Research Institute of the Humanities at the Government of the Republic of Mordovia.
Within the framework of the Federal Target Program "Research and Development in Priority Areas for the Development of Science and Technology", OAO Electrovypryamitel is implementing an innovative project to develop silicon carbide production and create a new generation of modern energy-saving semiconductor devices.
The Government of the Republic of Mordovia concluded a number of important agreements with the world leaders of information technologies "Oracle" and "Microsoft", the implementation of which will significantly expand the use of information and communication technologies in all sectors of the economy and create the conditions for the development of information business in the country.
Within the framework of the Federal Target Program "Electron Russia (2002-2010)", the Republican Center for Informatization of the Public Authorities of the Republic of Mordovia carries out work in 6 directions. Achievements in this field were noted at the All-Russian competition "The Best Region in the ICT field - 2005", where in the nomination "The use of ICT for interaction between the state and society", the Republic of Mordovia was awarded the first place.
In the republic, 10 research and innovation centers have been established that are actively engaged in the development of agricultural machinery, new building materials and technologies, coordinate farming systems, the development and adaptation of software for agricultural enterprises, energy audits and energy efficiency, training of personnel for innovation.
As a priority project in the field of science and the introduction of innovative technologies, a technopark is being created in the republic, the most important areas of activity of which are:
optical technologies - optical and optoelectronic devices, optical radiation receivers, fiber, nano and integrated optics, laser devices, fiber optic equipment, lighting technology;
electronic technologies - optoelectronics, laser technologies and nanostructures, energy-saving technologies, electrical engineering, components with supercharacteristics, automated control systems;
creation of new generation devices based on optical and electronic technologies;
creation of new building materials;
development of energy saving, information and biological technologies.
